Those without an official Thanksgiving may celebrate Planksgiving, being thankful that Leo Fender followed through on a notion he expressed to Don Randall before 1948: "We gotta build something" and ended up with the Tele, without a doubt the purest example of the modern production solid body electric guitar.

Wish I was re-employed, its been 9 long months. Did have an interview this week. Hasn't been a real good year but still things I can think of to be thankful for.
Think I'll open a Molson and be thankful for beer and put on Alice's Resturant;)then put the Turkey in the oven.

My day started with a -5° sunrise, and a call from a friend who forgot to plug in his diesel truck last night. Got my my Landcruiser de-iced, drove down through the valley and up the mountain on the opposite side. Climbing the back roads to his house I passed an SUV and two trucks along the way, that were stuck off the edge of the road, and looked like they had been there for a day or two. Picked up my friend and his pot of soup, drove back home and let him borrow the car.

Some folks might think this is a crummy way to start a holiday morning, but it boosted the holiday spirit for me. Thankful that I wake up in a home with a fireplace. Thankful that I have friends that I care enough about that if their car won't start, it's a reason to go visit them, not an inconvenience. Thankful that I didn't get stuck in a snow bank and have to walk back to somewhere in a storm. Thankful that I have resources to share.

And I'm thankful for the material things that allow me to stay in touch with my real friends and my imaginary internet friends.:)

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends below me. Eat way too much -like I did on our Thanksgiving- rest up, and enjoy the company of your family, or friends.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Tomorrow is my last day of work. I will be layed off when I punch out. I hate Winter Vacation! So close to Christmas, too.
