Picked it up yesterday, let it acclimate overnight and opened it up just now.
Like it a lot. That dark area under the control plate is shadow from the case lid.

I've never been a huge fan of the butterscotch finish. That being said, I bought an AO '50s about a year and a half ago, just because I wanted a quality tele, and being left-handed, my options were very, very limited. It's now hands-down my favorite guitar. Once I had the set-up refined a little bit and started playing it, my aversion to the color went away.

Mine is easily the nicest guitar I've ever played. Congratulations on yours, and I hope that you play it until the paint wears off.
