The rock icon turns 73 today!
He's outlived many (all things considered). HBD Keef!
73 AND THE GIRLS STILL DIG HIM!
I would imagine some nuclear waste (Keef's cocktail invention) will be consumed in Connecticut today, if he's home for the day.
Happy Birthday to the man who defines the sound of the world's greatest rock n roll band!
"Watching Keef move across the stage is like watching the EKG of rock & roll itself."
73 years is just by the calendar.
How old biologically/physically do you think he is ?
93 ? 103 ?
That is a strong constitution.
There's no way you can compare him with your average dad/grandpa/uncle of 73 w/ the putty-colored velcro Rockports.
Dude was still railing up the yayo until 10 years ago when he fell out of the tree.
His dad Bert lived to 84 and he was quite a drinker...
Happy Birthday Keef ! Thanks for Monkey Man, All Down The Line, Rocks Off, Sweet Virginia, Stray Cat Blues, Live With Me, and about 50 others !
The epitome of rock and roll. It can honestly be said he did it his way.
Happy Birthday Keef, wonder how many people play Telecasters because of that guy?
Both he & his idol, Muddy Waters, were near the summit of my inspirational list, when ordering my first guitar!!
^ The answer is ''lots''. The early 70s tours made the Tele an official vehicle of the voice of rock n roll.
Now excuse me while I grab my open-g Tele and pay (play?) tribute! ''Happy'' was the first five-string open-g song I learned - so easy and it sounds so good. Still super-fun to play...
Happy birthday, Keith! One of the last living legends.
That's like 515 in dog years.
Hope he donates himself to science.
Congrats Keith and keep on rockin' it.
Who would have thunk that I would have a new release album from the Rolling Stones on my Christmas 2016 list.
Life is good.
I share a birthday with Keith. How did I not know this before now?
Lets face it Keef is merely the host vessel for what ever life form entity that that dwells in his 73 year old carcass that has allowed him to rock low these many years.... I should be so lucky and lively at 73.[emoji322][emoji324][emoji322]
And a very good one as well!!!
Happy birthday to Keef! Yeah, he's a big part of why I love the Telecaster, and I always love his guitar tone.
Sometime about 1980 Keef became the coolest cat on the planet. Still is.
Say what you will about his playing ( a brilliant mixture of lead and rhythm at the same time IMO)
He defined cool.
I bet he knows about zombies.
I bet he can give himself transfusions.
I bet he can make a guitar play by staring it down.
I doubt he sleeps,...at all.
He doesn't sleep much..or at least he DIDNT sleep much BITD. He would regularly go for days without sleeping, so much that he says he figures he has lived at least 2 lives.
So influential...even now with Blue and Lonesome....best solo on the album is Keith's....playing nasty to Clapton's smooth slide on Everybody Knows About My Good Thing.
I think it is the only real solo he takes on the album. He expertly sets the table for Jagger and Woodie to solo over.
So, apparently , sleeping is bad for you.
I suspected this a long time ago.
It's when the 'bad stuff' takes hold.....
