Monty Python's Flying Circus debuted on October 5, 1969, and comedy changed forever.

A big happy 50th to John, Eric, Michael, Dead Graham, the Two Terrys (Terry and Terry), and Carol. Thanks for more than mere farts can say.

One of the only things my dad and I agreed on when I grew up in the 1970’s.

I saw them at the Qeen elizabeth Theratre in Vancouver for a live show , all I can say is they were hillarious , they did not censor the show at all, fantastic
in the book Monty Python Live they talk about the tour of Canada and the US .

Appearently while in mid flight across Canada ( Air Canada of course) there was an anouncement over the PA " Would Passener Jones please make themselves known to the stewardess ", to which Graham Chapman jumpped out of his seat proclaiming" I'm Passener Jones" followed by Eric Idle, Carol Cleveland , Terry Gilliam, Micheal Pallin etc that must have been a fun flight, although the Pythons claim that Air Canada was very glad to see them leave

Ok, fine. Yes, 6 of the members of the troupe performed together prior to the 1st airing of Monty Python's Flying Circus which was on 10/5/1969, 50 years ago. Most of the world were introduced to them via this TV series therefore the consensus that this is a 50th Anniversary.

Python had a sizeable influence on me back in the day. They were bigly popular with the Rice U. crowd I hung with. (I was attending U. of Houston at the time but most of my friends went to Rice. Go figure.)
It was not uncommon for Python skits to break out spontaneously.
    Great fun!

Ahh, I remember that well. Me and my 7th Grade "Posse" could recite those skits by memory. We'd greet each other in the halls with poor french accents declaring..."I fart in your general direction."

“I think all right-thinking people in this country are sick and tired of being told that ordinary, decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I'm certainly not! And I'm sick and tired of being told that I am.”
