I celebrated Native Indigenous Day, As in my opinion, Columbus didn't discover America, The Native Americans Did. From what I have read, He was lost at Sea and thought he was in India when he landed here. Hence he called the civilization here Indians. I kid u not.

It's certainly not a fairytale that Columbus took three small ships across the Atlantic ocean with little more to navigate than the stars. I'll take the history writings of hundreds of years over the beatnik history revision of today. How on Earth do we think our particular generation somehow knows the 'truth' of what happened 500 years ago. You can believe whatever you wish. Why does the modern world think they somehow have things right? It's pure delusion and arrogance.

I continued to isolate as I recover from covid 19, and don't have much energy.
Actually I missed Columbus Day, sadly confessing that I kinna find Columbus day as interesting as the myths of the Daffy Duck and Popeye The Sailor and far less inspiring than Groundhog Day.Speaking of which...:D
Bill Murray was great when he tells the groundhog "Don't Drive Mad" .

"The modern world" of historians is a direct lineage of work, examining evidence and trying to determine what is most likely to be true. You are writing new fairytales about historians because you don't want let go of the stories you learned in grade school.

Not being unkind but this is not mentioned in Australia, i.e. Columbus Day.

Christopher Columbus is the American version of your Willem Janszoon.
