Ok everyone, I really hated "American Woman" after MTV played it so much. I am not sure if I am still mad at Lenny.

Could this be my real confusion over k. Perry?

At least we didn't have to hear somebody yet again DESTROY "Hallelujah."

    Least favorite version, Go!

Kravitz has always been style and 'tude over substance.

I hate myself, but Leonard's. Dude can't sing. He can write, though.

So, OK all you critics, who should have been there?

I didn't mind KP, harmless fun. And good for her, I heard no pitch correction, that shows courage. The rap stuff? Yeesh, either I'm old or that sucked, maybe both.

Seems to me like the audio never comes across clearly on the TV at home and that's through my home theater system. The lyrics never are clear enough for me to understand. Maybe that's because I'm not familiar with what they were singing. Some parts were pretty cool but mostly I thought it was pretty lame. I guess I'm just being an old fart. Makes me wonder who their target audience is.

I watched the game on a 1990 TV with a big old picture tube, so the visual portion of the half-time show was great.

But the audio section is solid state, so the sound could have been better.

Once again, vacuum tube beats SS. ;)

I'll just add a little perspective. Once upon a time Superbowl halftimes were this:

Context : 10 years later this still makes me smile and shake my head in wonder.

It sucks to be an omnivore. My album of the year for 2014 was Metamodern Sounds by Sturgill Simpson.

Good is good - but, you ain't gotta like it.

    It's all subjective.

    Next year's halftime show ?

Pick your favorite guitar ace. Someone you really respect. You know - lotsa "chops" and all that.

Put him and his "ace" band right there on the 50 yard line so they can teach America all about true musicianship.

How well do think that'll translate/work out ?

Exactly. Some people here say they want someone like Joe Bonamassa. Yeah, that'd work.

The only correct answer for next year's show is Weird Al. Who else could entertain as he could?
