I'm currently looking for mods on a telecaster I'm redoing. I would want something more "versatile" so I'm using a 4 way switch with a P90 in the neck with a Cavalier Lion pickup at the bridge. Along with that I want to add a push-pull pot for out of phase switching. I've been hearing alot about the half out of phase option too. I'm curious about these two. Especially the half out of phase. Does anyone have clips or know where I could find more info on this?

    Excellent demo, Tom.

I like the way the output stays up when you pull the knob. You seem to have just the right amount of out of phase; not too much.

Hi Tom, nice playing. Do you have a link to the wiring schematic you used? I already looked at Phostenix site but didn't see it.

I've got a bunch of diagrams that include HOoP. What exactly are you looking for?

The one that Guitartom_ca is using. 3 way with push pull pot HOop. I think that is what he is using?

I see the 5 way HOop on your site but not for a 3 way.

You would wire the push-pull pot like the toggle switch diagram I linked to. If I have time, I'll make a version for a push-pull pot.

The resistor is optional if you are just using a toggle or push-pull pot. I find the resistor more useful when you can also put a resistor in series with the other pickup, as well - like you can with a 5-way Super Switch setup.

sorry off topic to the OP

No hurry at all but would like it for a 3 way switch (bridge, bridge with neck, neck [standard tele single coil pickups]) with push pull pot please and thank you in advance :D

I've found it to be common that the pickups half out-of-phase are actually a little louder than the normal pickups in parallel.

It would be used with the standard Tele 3-way setup. The Red wire in the drawing goes to the pickup selector switch where the Neck pup White wire normally goes.

The half out of phase is one of the Baja positions - a 10nF (103) cap is placed in series with the neck pickup when it is in parallel but out of phase with the bridge pickup. The cap is not in place when the pickups are in series out of phase, but it is possible to re-wire the 4-pole S-1 to do this. This is not the tone cap, that is a 47nF (473).
