Some see the glass as half-empty.
    Some see it as half-full.
    Some merely see half-a-glass.
But best of all are those who see half-a-glass and say:
Drink up people, the next round's on me!

I'll wait for the next round and an unused glass, but I see your point.

If my glass is half full I’ve already enjoyed the first half. Happy Friday!

i always thought this to be a silly analogy
The glass is clearly both- in the metaphorical sense, as well

Half a glass of whiskey is plenty

Half a glass of soy sauce is plenty

Lots of plentifulness in that half glass

Yes I enjoy a nice sipping soy once in a while

I take a half-glassed attitude toward most things.

You've chosen a container which is optimized for use by the clumsy. Spillage will be reduced.

If you're drinking bourbon it leaves room for ice.

Half a glass of scotch might be too much...

My wife disagrees with me that the halves don't have to be equal... the smaller half is still just half as long as there are only two parts.

I've always thought the "Glass Half Empty/Half Full" metaphor was a bit misunderstood. It's a small, subtle thing but can be important. It's not so much about the optimist seeing it one way and the pessimist seeing it another, but that a person can make a "choice" as to how to look at it.

Granted, some of us are programmed by nature or nurture to see things more optimistically or pessimistically. Any time I'm presented with a "glass half empty/full" situation I try to remember that I can make a choice. The optimistic view tends to make for happier living despite occasionally needing a little effort from me.

The glass is always full. It may have some liquid in it, but it will always be filled with air.

Quarter glass of Maker's Mark is a go. Full glass of gin, I'll pass.

Just like life ... it all depends.

Depends on how you look at it. Metaphorically I mean.

TD- there are times in which I cannot decide whether you are half full of it, or all-full of it.:)

I think you're all right, nonetheless
