@posttoastie, thanks for that video.
Oh, there certainly was 5th Beatle. #5 shows up in 1966 and is called "the studio". That's my take on it.
If by "boost the mood" you mean "electrify the room with pure soul magic", then yeah...

Here's your fifth Beetle!
I do. Curse you, autocorrect.You mean Shears, don't you? Billy Shears.
Oh Jeez... Not Jeff Lynne! He's awful!
It ain't a popular opinion, but they sucked...ELO….The Traveling Wilburys….I would that I were that awful.
Opinions do not establish fact. Opinions are not necessarily fact…..or even factually based. They are personal reactions and thoughts. We may all think what we want. That establishes nothing beyond the personal opinion holder’s thoughts.It ain't a popular opinion, but they sucked...
Probably why they're called opinions.Opinions are not necessarily fact….
I think Rick, Bun E. and Tony would have fit in musically.

I personally am of the opinion that is not in agreement with yours. It would seem from the professional association with the other people who comprised The Traveling Wilburys that there were four well-established and well-respected musicians who disagree with your opinion, also.
I can accept that you think that Lynne ‘sucks’, but it does not follow that your opinion makes one bit of difference in the reality that exists.
From a critical point of view, personal reaction to an artist’s endeavors is not relevant. What is relevant from a critical analysis is what an artist accomplishes with regard to that artist’s intent.
anyway…musical interlude for anyone who might enjoy what Lynne did…
And in SUCH a round-about way...That kids, is how you state opinions.

Well, you know what they say , “Brevity is the soul of wit!”
Of course if Jeff Lynne said it, he’d need 64 tracks, innumerable overdubs, everything recorded separately - and a string section !
