Key of C major - have fun with it!
There is a chord chart here if that would help anybody:
This is really cool, but a bit above my level.
I hit some of the changes..
You sure did. I only know the first first phrase or so.
I played the chords for about an hour before I found something close.
It's been a while, I'll see if I can remember it.
One quick take as it's getting late, rough as hell, I'm not used to playing it this slow.
All I can say ignorance is bliss.
You played it well and about the 1:54" mark some very cool riffs especially.
The acoustic sounds real good here, Mike. I liked how you made it your own and kind of bluesy too.
There's been 14 downloads, so maybe a few more "takes" coming?
Great playing, guys! Thanks, OP, for posting it, and those who took a shot at it. Excellent! Jim
My fingers can't take any more acoustic playing.
I broke my rule and listened to the above takes (nice job by all) before doing mine since I be shooting for a straight melodic attempt. I was just curious. I'll give you All of Me tomorrow.
I'll start mine tomorrow Mike. Thank you.
The acoustic sounds very good though and like Mike (Mellencaster) you made it sound interesting throughout.
No rush Alan. I know it's a challenging one for most of us.
Lol! These are fun changes. I can hear you enjoyed it. Really it's a tune we should all know. I'm going to learn the entire head.
Love this and would like to play it properly. Thank you Mike for the share.
Some clams here and there, but so fun to play:
Once upon a time, the house band I play in had a fiddle player. We used to play this tune, I sang it, Fiddleman played the intro, one of the leads and the outro; every now and then, I would sneak in a lead after his, depending on whatever. We used to do it in G, so in C, it's at the very high end of my trail, my range...
Fun nonetheless and playing it in another key gave me a little different perspective as well.
I'm working on it. I can play the melody. Now I need to get proficient enough to improvise with it.
Grandson and NFL Football consumed my day today. Hopefully I'll be able to start on it tomorrow.
Jammin! me too!
