I made Jaegerschnitzle and bratkartoffeln for dinner. It was the perfect comfort meal for a chilly autumn evening.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume you're of German ancestry? BTW, send some of that chill down to Florida, it's 85 friggin' degrees down here! (insert sound of sweat dripping)

Took my Puerto Rican wifey to one of Orlando's nice German restaurants last year... She is now a big fan of Schnitzel and the red cabbage and potato pancakes!
I am sure your dinner was great Iron!

I learned a variety of German cooking from my Grandmother and Mother but can't remember what makes the Jaeger different from the viener (schnitzel). Or how to spell it. Loved eating it though, with fresh squeezed lemon IIRC.

I do remember my Grandmothers pronunciation of a lot of those words though, funny what sticks.
And I remember being little and picking lemon seeds off the schnitzel.
    Damn that was good!
Not familiar with the bratsomething, do remember bratwurst and other wursts we got in the German section of NYC.
The good deli (not sandwiches, just meats) was called Schaller & Weber IIRC?
    Or Schaller & Veber?
    Memory of childhood...

So maybe I can help you as German native . The Wiener Schnitzel is named by the town Wien (Vienna), the Jaeger Schnitzel is one piece of meat with mushrooms (Jaeger means hunter). And the bratsomething are fried potatoes. Classic german food beside of Schweinshaxn and others :D

Scitzle ( or commonly called a Schnitty) is a very common meak here. It's crumbed veal or chicken and every body eats it ( unless a vegetarian or vegan). Washed down with a Riesling and other wines, if you like. Yep, I'm of German background. Here in South Australia Germans migrated here in the mid 1800s- my family. This was due to religious persecution, so this being a free non- convict state they came here. The wine industry is due to them . South Aussie wines are the best in Australia, some world's best ( some bottles retail for $600, vintage and collectibles, and collections, $$ thousands).
Anyway you can get a cheap $10 meal at most pubs i.e. the schnitzel.
I am the fifth generation, my sons 6th. grandchildren the 7th. They lived a frugal life , like the Amish ( but not deeply religious), and provided vegetables to the city dwellers 40 miles south and enjoined wine and beers
