I am planning on using my CNC router. ......Because of that decision, I get placed in the expert class. I'm no expert in CAD nor CNCing...just so you know that up front...just a self taught experienced guy :)

The plan is a copy of a telecaster copy influenced by the Jedson/Teisco brand of old Japanese import guitars that many of us older folks cut our teeth on...( fingers too). Something similar to this:
    http://www.google.com/search?q=jeds...ele_Style_Type_2_Electric_Guitar.aspx;600;944
My version will incorporate some different details from the bass version. Hardware is ordered and depending on what shows up determines where things will head first.
You may ask why would somebody waste their time on a copy of a tele..... and I'd say why not :)?......Different strokes.....That's the basic idea. Hopefully the temps will cooperate over the next couple of months otherwise I'm in trouble. Thanks for watching. Should be interesting anyways.....

And .....good Luck to all challengers in all the categories!

I have a friend who's working on restoring a Jedson and a Teisco at the moment, so I'll watch this with interest.

I'm watching this build hoping to be schooled in the ways of CNC guitar building. My router has only been around for a month or so and I have yet to cut out anything that looks like a guitar.

No, I have a free cad program called DoubleCad at home and I have limited access to Solidworks at work. I also use Draftsight at work once in a while. I'm using the opensource EMC2 to run the machine and the free version of Cambam for my gcode.

I pretty much have the basics of the EMC and Cambam and I can fumble through the rest.

I'm on the trial cambam now myself for all the 2d stuff. I have about 8 uses left before it quits or is reduced in usefulness.

I'm not sure I see anything wrong with that color. :) Good luck Marty! (Hopefully our weather will cooperate)
