Anybody got any ideas where to get replacement tubing for dry rotted stands?
Maybe some flexible rubber pipe or foam pipe insulation from Lowes?
Any other ideas?
Nitro friendly options preferred.

Yeah don't use plastic, it will definitely react with nitro finishes. When I was real young I used some plastic hangers from home depot. Seemed like a good idea at the time, until it melted a spot on each side of my Ricky 325's headstock/neck. Needless to say i was less than pleased with myself. I got it fixed and put some cloth (cotton) on the hangers after that. I even hate to mention it being such a bonehead move, but figured if I saved someone else's neck (no pun intended) it's worth it.

Regards,

D.

Just about any rubber or plastic tubing you use is going to react with a lacquer finish. I put felt sleeves over the tubing on all my stands. These are easily made with a sewing machine if you know someone with one. If not, a paper stapler will work.

The plastic pipe fit great.
I just have an old beater poly guitar on it right now.
Think Ill make some cloth bras for all my stands.
