A temporary or stage stand that a guitar isn't on for an extended amount of time any reputable brand works as it doesnt matter much. I make my own wall mounted holders pictured that I place soft suede on contact points to avoid any issues.

I have used the K&M German made floor stand in the link for years with well dried nitro guitars setting on it for extended times with no issues. I place suede or cotton between any plastic or foam padded stands for 3 or so months on freshly finished nitro guitars. König & Meyer https://a.co/d/iOonXAI

I have several Stageline brand stands with both shallow arms for electric and deep arms for acoustic guitars. All of my guitars are nitro finished, I've never had a problem. What you do want to avoid is any stand with surgical rubber tubing on the arms - I had one of those that damaged the back of the neck on a Dobro.

I'll also add that I don't think guitars should be left out on stands - they belong in their cases.

What stands are best for not damaging nitro finish?
Thanks

I had a Les Paul that got stained by a generic black foam padded stand. I was able to buff out the damage and picked up some black terry cloth wrist sweat bands and slid the foam tubing through the wristbands. For the small fingers that support the neck, I just cut a strip of the wristband and used a strip of double face tape to secure it. The black terry color does not transfer.

I have been using this one with no issues on nitro guitars:

I use the same one for all three of my guitars with no issues. As soon as the furnace goes off in the spring, I put them on the stands. They're on them until the furnace comes on again. Probably four months or so.

I've been using Ultimate Support Stands GS1000 model for more than 15 years. These are well made, super stable, and fold up very small. The current version of this is the GS100+.

Don't waste your $$ on the version with the toggle yoke that 'grips' the headstock; it adds no level of security, and it's just more moving parts to fail or break.

The trick to using these it to set the height of the yoke so the bottom strap button is about 1" above the floor when the guitar/bass is on the stand. People gripe about these being unstable because they set them too high. Done right, it's the best stand I've used and I've used a bunch including Hercules and On Stage.

I agree. I have the yoke one and am planning on the one without, the moving parts aren’t really necessary. Pretty solid with gravity alone. Great stand, folds compact.

I've had good luck with K&M and OnStage A-frames, Ultimate tripod stands, and String Swing hangers.

I have a cheap old metal stand that was part of a trade deal I did years ago - I use pieces of cotton towel over the "rubber" sleeves that it came with because I discovered that the rubber tube cushioning it came with would stick to a guitar's finish after a while

I also make my own stands, and I use cork as a cushion on these

Regular cork sheeting works well, but if you mount the cork with contact cement make sure you give the contact cement plenty of time to gas-off and dry before setting a guitar on the cork surface

I've never tried it, but it seems that silicone tubing would work well as a cushion

I've had my Nitro finished guitar on this one for a year so far with no issues...
