When folks are stuck at home, and bored, they go online, and buy more stuff!

Amp/pedal sales should be up as well.

Agreed. I haven’t bought any pedals but I bought a Marshall I’d been considering since it came out, the SC20C.

Well pedal purchases have definitely been up in my house.
From April 1st until today I bought 7 pedals

This is not a surprise if you are watching ebay, reverb, or guitar center.

    Up from what ?

This news tidbit is like the “vinyl record album (3x redundant) sales were thru the roof this year !” headline from a couple years back.

Compared to the previous 10 years - yup , they sure were.

Never over-estimate millennials and what they do with the money not designated for their $72,000 student loan debt...

If all the guitar manufacturers went belly up right now, there still would be dozens of instruments for each person who ever wanted to play guitar in the future.

Different world view because I never gave a toss for brand-new , full price instruments (that no one had owned before ) and never paid attention to market share and brand management or player attrition...

Even before the lockdown I was buying a lot of cheap Chinese overdrive pedals on Ebay. But, I've actually slowed down a lot lately. The only one I've bought since April was the Tone City Durple from Anderton's.

I have all the amps I need or want
I want to sell my Strat, fix up the ‘74 LP Special and eventually get a LP Gold Top w/P90s
That’ll give me a SG, tele, LP Special, & a LP Standard as far as electrics

I’ve said for years you can cover a lot of ground with a SG & a tele. I just happen to love Les Pauls with P90s

I've bought 10 guitars this year, although I only kept 7 of them.
    6 of them were new.

It's possible that, to some degree, I am personally responsible for this.

How about sales in the used market?

How did the raising of fees on Reverb affect the used market?
Im seeing a lot of stuff lingering for longer for sale or more local pickup stuff. I think the trend towards local pickup defeats the point of Reverb as a Global market place.
