My MIM Stratocaster is the "Afghanicaster" (got it while I was working in Afghanistan).
My Squier Affinity Tele is the "Sandcaster" (got it while working in Iraq. Yeah, no points for originality).
My Rickenbacker 330/6 is simply "The Grail"--the guitar I've wanted since I was 16, finally obtained during my 47th year.

I used to until my wife started calling them "The Blue One", "The White One", etc.
    Those names stuck.
Meanwhile the names like "Liona" and "Wendy" faded. Probably because they were ex girlfriends.

I was gonna name one after my mother-in-law but thought better of it.

I have never named a guitar and never will. I used to think it was just plain stupid, but now I can at least appreciate creative naming (even though I still won't name a guitar.)

I love all of the clever names Clapton has come up with over the years - he had a black strat and he called it "Blackie." I think he had a brown guitar that he may have called "brownie." The guy's a clearly a genius.

He must have spent time practicing scales and those moody bends instead of thinking up names for his guitars -- Or it was the drugs...

Cars and guitars, a good idea not to fall in love (and name) either one. They'll only break your heart!

You are supposed to name your main guitar after the girl you lost your virginity to. Mine is named Karen.

My Ibanez MC300 is named "Robin" after a beautiful blond girl I was in love with (but never dated) in high school.

Well, since ALL of my guitars are right-handed, I guess I've got that one covered.

Nice - "Righty"... I guess the guy that calls his "Rosie" is good to go too.

In that case, my guitar should be named "Bob."

I've named project builds in thread titles to make them easy to look up, but never really think of my guitars as having names.

My yellow LP Jr. is "Colonel Mustard", my white Melody Maker is "Joanie", 'cause it reminds me of Joan Jett. My tele is "Lucy", I have no idea why, I've just always called her that. My P-bass is "Fido", because it's a wonderful shade of dog dick red.

The rest don't really have names, except for one acoustic my daughter named "Barney".

I only really named a few.

My old Squier Tele is Nelly.

My Parts Tele is Black Jack.

My P-bass I refer to as J. Lo...because of its big bottom end. ;)
