These swamp ash bodies got me very interested in building a blackguard, except I can’t find a good picture of where the upper bout meets the neck pocket.

The picture from their website appears to show that the shoulder curves right up to the top edge of the neck pocket, almost like post 1973 Telecasters, without the notch. But the curve itself still looks like a sharp curve....almost like the whole template got shifted somehow.

Does anyone have a good picture of that area on one of their newer bodies? The website only gives a full front and full back picture.

An internet sourced pic to show the notch I’m referring to:

First of all, Credit where Credit is Due.. the photos of the 70's body and the 50 - 72. etc were created By 'ol Fuzzy.. well over a decade ago.. no finer more entertaining poster ever.. Still miss 'im..

Now to the issue... the teles were NEVER perfectly consistent... that curve drifted up and down the neck pocket area over time as different workers came and went. .. the one you have from the Guitar Mill looks fine.... and if anyone rags on the "notch" even that thing was different from one body to the next as it was held against the spindle sander.

You have a good one.. revel in your success...

Here's a shot from the back of Nacho's Book, the Blackguard.. perhaps it will help

    Thank you.

It must just be bad photo angles on the website, or the rough routing has left some thin wood that will get sanded away during wood prep.

It's not a huge notch, but it's there and looks good..

Again, thanks for the picture. I love 55-ish white blondes with parchment guards!
