Has anyone considered the possiblity the guitar/pickup/control designer made component selection to produce their ideal sound based on using a standard 20' cable? And that by using what is considered a premium cable the sound would be negatively affected.

So why when I say an amp is voiced for chinese tubes does everyone insist on tube rolling several times and never happy?
Same logic.

Interesting I did not know that cables had anything to do with tone,
I have a crapy cable if I get a better one will my tone be better??

Nope sure won't....because better is subjective.

It may however be ever so slightly different.

The cable does affect tone. Whether that is good or bad is solely in the ear of the player. Santana and Slash have stated they use long cables because they like the way the treble is affected.

And both predominantly use wireless...how ironic

And EVH said turn up the voltage to your amp!!

We all know how that turned out...

I used to wonder when TDPRI management doesn't like the resurrection of old threads until I saw a reference to EVH used in the present tense. :(
