I've wanted a Les Paul Junior type guit for a while.

When this came up on local classifieds and the owner (girl who never learnt to play) accepted my offer of $Au1000 I couldn't resist. Slugger neck.

It's a one trick pony, but it's a raucous good trick. 2010, basically unmarked. The Burstbucker spits on your boot and says 'hold my beer'

Least expensive USA built Signature model and it seems about the only one worth more now then new.

FYI....a "Les Paul Jr"-type would have a P-90.....the Joan Jett is no more a Jr than is an Esquire.
That said, I'm sure it's a great guitar, and I hope you enjoy it. It would take me a bit to get used to that control layout, but other than that, have fun!!!!!

    I have a 2 * P90 guitar, although I may make up an alternate pickguard with a P-bucker

I meant more a non-carved single pickup Les Paul.

I have P90s in another guit, I have Filtertrons in my Setzer Hotrod but I had no guitar with a Gibson hummer. A P-rail might be just the ticket to cover more bases.

Nice score. Congrats. I don't remember seeing that model before. Think I remember seeing a white Joan Jett Junior style back in around 2011? Could have been another rocker chicks sig model though. Cool that it came with a Gibson hardcase.

Very cool! Wasn't the black one called the Black Heart?

I have a Joan Jett style Melody Maker that I bought as a project a couple of years back and set up with two humbuckers - it's an awesome little thing, weighs about 6lb and runs rings around the average SG! They're very underrated guitars, these mid 60s style MMs.

The more numerous white model - same specs - came out 2007 from my reading. That was based off her original MM bought from Eric Carmen's guitarist.

Joan went back a few years later and said she wanted a black one.

Mine's like this except Burstbucker 3 pickup. Hers has another Velvet Hammer.

4 years off isn't bad although 2007 seems like yesterday.:)
Yours is in amazing condition considering it's 9 years old and Joan Jett fans wouldn't exactly be gentle on their guitars.

She bought it from Eric Carmen himself - not Eric's guitarists. There are videos on You Tube of Eric Carmen fronting the Raspberries playing the actual white Melody Maker later sold to Joan Jett.

Dang cool guitar! Love the simplicity of a Junior, Joan is the real deal! In the words of Ray Wylie Hubbard...

    "Midnight gig, cheap trucker speed

    Sticky fingers let it bleed

    Telecaster, bottleneck slide

Sings like a drunk Chrissie Hyde

Says rock & roll is flat out lawless

And Joan Jett is a goddess

    Short dress, torn stockings

    Chick singer, badass rocking"

I don’t know much about the guitar, but Joan, wow! I had a big crush on that girl.

These are great guitars- I gig my two pickup MM reissue (2008) all the time and can't find anything I prefer, for playing electric slide. Part of the appeal was price, though. Gibson blew out MMs for $200, back in 2009. The JJ guitars looked expensive and less versatile, by comparison. There should always be a place for super-light, stripped back tone monsters, though....and when Gibson screw around with their MM and Junior lines, other companies jump in, to fill the void. Gordon Smith do that job, in Europe.

Best part of Joan's replica? The skinny headstock. It should be on everything called a Melody Maker.

There’s nothing “guilty” to be felt about it, that’s a great guitar.
