There is a different movie named house, and it has a undead cowboy grandpa in it.

I grew up with all those movies from the 80's, my favorite period for horrow movies. Both Pet semetery movies were ok, Jack frost, phantasm movies were awesome... The thing with 2 heads was ok if you are into those movies. Big trouble in little china is very good.
    Here is a good list.

My uncle let be borrow a copy of this he transferred to tape in the 80’s also had John waters “girl trouble” that came with an almost psychiatric type warning from my uncle, I vividly recall something like
“If you decide to watch the second movie on that tape, I can explain”/we can talk about it”

What a couple wild films for a young fella

    Ah good times!

I’m a little younger but that was the era of awesome VHS covers

I remember going to the local rental shop and I can recall just about all the horror covers, I didn’t even read the backs then the one with the best cover was the one coming home

One of my favorite VHS covers was from sleep away camp, where there’s a girl that has Freddy’s glove and Jason’s mask hanging out of a backpack

I don’t remember renting that one though

I found it, funny...my childhood memories had it looking cooler/different, I thought it was a drawing like

The covers that almost look like drawings were the best, or maybe they were just old and worn

My cousin and I went to the movies and saw Teenagers from Outer Space. Still remember the kid swimming across the pool being shot with a ray gun and a skeleton sinking to the bottom. Great stuff.

Cheesy AND entertaining. Quite different from cheesy SYFY movies.

Dawn of the dead is pretty classic, I also love Street Trash, one the bizarrest movies of the mid 80s. Anyone mentioned The Stuff yet? Hilarious film.

Return of the Living Dead I & II if not already mentioned. Soundtrack on the first one is pretty solid... TSOL, Cramps, 45 Grave. Second one had Anthrax *and* Mantronix which I thought was the coolest thing ever in '88.

Hilarious flicks too imo. James Karen, Linnea Quigley (in the first one)... lots to like.

Barbara Crampton, who starred in both From Beyond and Reanimator, was and is one of the most beautiful women to ever appear on film IMHO.

Guilty pleasure more than horror (well some will be horrified at Willem Dafoe's outfit)

    Streets of Fire

The best movie from 1984 you never heard of

Saw it in the theater somehow*. Early Bill Paxton flick too, great cast.

*somehow: Diane Lane was in it (a year after the Outsiders) and I was 13.
