some are actually cerebral works of high art

Not very darn many, I'll give you that

most are best seen at the drive in, with beer and nachos

I see there is a fellow Svengoolie fan here! Awesome! I'd never seen "The Ghost & Mr. Chicken" and watched it Saturday night. Good movie and hard to beat Don Knotts.

I love horror/sci-fi movies from any decade. It's about all I watch now.

If you like Svengoolie, give Joe Bob Briggs a try. He's on the streaming service Shudder now.

svengoolie bugs me with the schtick (rubber chickens, bad puns and all), but I've heard great things about Joe Bob

Joe bob Briggs, the guy from the crazy religion clips show? (Can’t remember what the show was called)

Yes I’m a svengoolie fan, the schtick is the best part @blowtorch

The ghost of mr. Chicken is my favorite of the knotts films

I can see your house from here.
Hereditary is not a B movie in any way.
Nor is the Exorcist, The Changeling and many others.

That's kind of Svengoolie's deal: silly jokes and bad puns galore. I guess it's working since he's been on the air for so long. I do appreciate that he makes an effort to show the old Universal Horror films whenever he gets the chance.

Joe Bob hosts more recent films and seems very knowledgable about the genre. Friday night he hosted "Bride of Re-Animator", which is a classic IMO. His mail girl is easy on the eyes too. :)

Any of the Christopher Lee, Hammer Studios, Dracula movies of the '50s, '60s, '70s. I have my favorites but I like them all. The women in the Hammer films were hot, hot, hot! I also love the old Universal horror classics.

Larry, I just meant in the broad sense of low-brow, "cheap" entertainment
But maybe you got that, and you were being a wiseacre :)

"The last Man On Earth" starring Vincent Price (1964)

From the book "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson (1954)
    Which then also spawned:
"Omega Man" starring Charleton Heston (1971)
    And, of course:
"I Am Legend" starring Will Smith (2007)

I saw "LMOE" on TV when I was about 12, and had it in my mind for so many years that it was a great movie. In fact, I used to tell people about this obscure Vincent Price movie and how great it was. Never saw it again until the interage came along and I bought a DVD copy. Sat down with my wife one night to watch it again- like 30 years later (after prepping her for how great it was going to be). It was absolutely horrible. But, still one of my all-time favorites.

In truth, none of the 3 movie versions come even close to the book- which I read numerous times as a kid. If I read it again today, I might have a different opinion of the book, too.....
