I am a music hobbyist (defined as: minimal skills) and come to this forum frequently for ideas. My first real guitar I bought and still own is a 1977 Tele--blonde, rosewood neck and otherwise known as a Deluxe Tele (so I've been told)! I paid 400 usd for it at a music shop in East Lansing, MI in 1984 +/-. The Tele came with a Strat pickup layout with 3 x single coil EMGs, 5-way switch and an aftermarket ESP classic tele bridge otherwise it's stock. My only question is should I restore it (haven't pulled the pick guard up to check status of router but doubt 3 x single coil cutouts are original) or leave it--it sounds great as is! Otherwise my gear line up is: 3 x Strats, 1 x Deluxe Tele, 1 x Dean US Hardtail, 1 x Dean Korean Hardtail, 1 x Traveler G Speedster, 1 x Guild US Acoustic, 1 x Ovation Acoustic, 2 x Fender Jazz basses AMPs: 1 x Fender Blues Junior, 1 x Roland 120 Jazz Chorus head w/half stack, 1 x Voice of America vintage amp and other assorted electronic gizmos collected over a 36 year +/- career in the military.
