Hello everybody. I just became a member tonight because I like discussing guitars, gear, etc. with other guitar players. I’ve been playing for 17 years and I know this is a site dedicated to the Fender Telecaster but, I’m going to be upfront with you guys I’ve never owned a Tele in my life. I’ve played plenty of them in shops MIM, MIA, and MIJ. They’re awesome guitar but have never pulled the trigger on one. I’ve been eyeing one recently for a good deal and we’ll see where that goes. I currently own a Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro III, Fender American professional Stratocaster HSS, and a Gibson Flying V Faded.

Hey. I only put Chicago as my location for simplicity. I’m located in Bensenville.

Here they are. I’ve put my Flying V up for sale because I want to get a Tele.

Welcome! I’ve got family in Western Springs and friends in Glenview. Proposed to my wife downtown. So always some good memories and times in Chicago and the burbs.

And don’t sweat it, I don’t have a Tele currently either. Sometimes I do sometimes I don’t, but this is a great forum with a wealth of information on all kinds of topics.

Welcome! Chicago is one of my favorite places. I'm stuck down in Indy but get up there every chance I can.

Will do sir. I’m putting my Flying V up for sale to try and get a Tele. Looking at 2 in particular both MIM. Ones a purple used road worn and the other is a standard Tele from 98.

Funny you should come here. WE usually speak about Beef Sandwiches, Combos, Baby back ribs, maybe some Lou Malnattis thing crust and deep dish. Yo got it wrong if you think you can come here and just express dissatisfaction with Telecasters. Get your red hots!

    Cheers and welcome from Wilmette!

Purple Road Worn sounds interesting. 90's were good years for teles too; I love my 94 MIM Tele Special.

If you can get away with saving up vs. selling V while soaking in more info here on Teles to target, might be worth it. Frankly, a good Tele partscaster (perhaps even bought here!) may offer more bang for buck than an MIM. Just sayin'
