Hello Tele-friends

Just chiming in to greet everybody on this great forum. My name is Morten, I’ll pretty soon turn 40 y.o., and I’m from Norway. I’ve played the guitar for 30 years this year. In my 20’s I played the guitar for a living for four years. Today I work as a music teacher, and I play in a couple of bands as a (great) hobby: One cover band, and one instrumental act. I’ve played on several albums here in Norway throughout the years, but I never became a rock star 😂 But That’s completely allright. I’m married, father to two daughters, 5 and 11 years old. Genre-wise I’m heavily into country music, roots, folk, surf, rockabilly, instrumental music, and rock. The Telecaster is my all-time favourite guitar. I currently have a beautiful Baja, alongside an American Original Jaguar, and a Dano 12-string. Amps: Supro Statesman, and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe with a Creamback. Really into pedals as well. I’ll attach a couple of pictures of my gear. My happy place is a Tele, my Origin compressor and a good tube amp. Really into country picking, and surf sounds with my Jag.

My instrumental band, «The Desert Star Revival» will release our debut album this summer, on all digital plattforms. We are currently mixing this record. Having lots of fun!

Anyway, happy to be a part of this great community. Thanks for having me.

Welcome to the TDPRI!

We're glad to have you here!

What do you do in your duties as a music teacher? Do you teach in public schools? And what ages?

The reason I ask is that I once taught beginner and intermediate band in the public schools, along with elementary classroom music. But I got out of that well before I got to be 40 years old.

Welcome to TDPRI. That's one fine pedal board you've provided a picture of. I've got the Analogman Mini Chorus, (I ordered mine with a fixed deep setting), and a Cali 76 Stacked Edition split between two of my boards. The Cali 76 is pure magic! The best compressor on the market! Congratulations on acquiring the King of Tone. That's not easy to pull of. Did you know a guy who knows a guy?

Welcome, Morten. It sounds like you have a lot of music going on over there! I also will look for your album when it is available. Good luck with it.

Thanks man! I teach in a public school. A teacher’s pay check in Norway is actually not that bad, so it’s a good life. I teach beginners, kids. I like it a lot. Plus, I have a lot of paid vacations every year. 8 weeks this summer! Being around kids is very rewarding. That’s the biggest thing.
