Inspected this neck carefully and found couple of other issues:

1) its back has a weird profile - it isn’t cut very even, bumpy in the middle. Sanding it down at this moment to even everything out. I’ll finish it then with gunstock oil, Musicman style.

2) No idea how I missed it before: NO SIDE DOTS 🤣

So there’s been a fair amount of sanding so far, managed to pretty much even out the back profile. It was rather rough with big bumps and valleys. But then they’ve sealed the wood, I don’t get it.
Maybe this is why it was sold for $50 :D
Anyway, that’s one of the weirdest pieces of maple I’ve seen - some wavy grain changing it’s directions, some birds eyes, bear claws like on spruce and a bit of flame figure.

This will be its neck pickup, now waiting for another pickguard with a minihumbucker sized hole… and that will be the very last part missing.

I had to widen the pickup hole in the pick guard of my Jagmaster when I put in a set of humbucker-sized P-90s. Not a big deal, just used a file and a Dremel tool.

Love the green and white of your guitar, by the way!

Done!!!

The string hight at the nut is a bit high but I’ll let the neck settle under the string tension for a week before I file the slots down.

The specs:
- Semi-hollow basswood body with an ash cap, poly finish.
- Maple neck with ebony fretboard from G&L USA, a « scratch&dent » stock they were selling unfinished and unbranded around 10 years ago. I finished it with gunstock oil.
- Hardware from different sources
- A dual blade bridge and a minihumbucker neck pickup from ebay. I just picked whatever was cheaper.
- 250K Log pots (Bourns) and a 0.022 Orange drop cap
- a standard 3 way switch, no coil splitting
