OK, nothing is going to top this iconic guitar scene from DELIVERANCE, but can you name a scene that might be the second greatest guitar scene in movie history? (And please, no live performance scenes from some band's concert film.)

The DELIVERANCE "Dueling Banjos" scene is about as classic a scene as you can get in film history. And being that a guitar is in the scene, well it makes it "The Greatest Guitar Scene In Movie History." By the way, odd that the greatest guitar scene in movie history features......an Epiphone!

What other guitar scenes are great? Marty McFly's run through guitar history in BACK TO THE FUTURE is pretty darn good, but nowhere near iconic as DELIVERANCE. People who have never even seen DELIVERANCE know the tune and the scene.

Greatest Guitar Scene In Movie History. Name some others, please:

I was going to mention Jeff Beck's awkward guitar trashing in "Blow Up" (the filmmakers wanted The Who but had to settle for the short-lived Beck/Page lineup of the Yardbirds), but...

OK, it offers no profound comment on the human condition, nor does it have any social significance that the scene from DELIVERANCE has, but that ANIMAL HOUSE guitar scene is definitely a contender for "Greatest Guitar Scene In Movie History."

Nothing beats that tapping run he does behind his head.

It’s not that iconic, but it reminds me so much of learning the same way, sitting at my uncle’s feet, that I had to include it.

I'm not going to argue with the Deliverance pick!

It's a Top Ten favorite movie for me,
I play some bluegrass guitar in a loose, fun group, including " Dueling Banjos"
