the compilation "Elvis Sun Sessions" is the greatest album of all time.

"Tyranny and Mutation" by BOC is the 2d greatest album of all time.

"Mott" by Mott the Hoople is the 3d greatest album of all time.

"Harmony" by Three Dog Night is easily, EASILY the 4th greatest album ever made.

really, people, how this debate can just continue on and on is beyond me. now, i have explained things for you. play with the toys you have and be grateful.

i'm sorry, BC, but almost everybody hates "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs". the most common complaints are "Title is too long" and "Musicians are obviously drunk/extremely horny".

Well, there’s no accounting for Almost Everybody’s taste. Layla is my favorite album. I didn’t ask Almost Everybody for his opinion.

I think it's an age thing. I would have to include "Are You Experienced" and "Disraeli Gears"

The problem with my answers is that most of the foundational rock-n-roll material (i.e. 1950s and early '60s) was not released in an album-focused era. As such, the list would skew deeper into the '60s than my musical taste in rock-n-roll should place it, and would exclude my favorite rock-n-roll artists.

That said, I will bang off a dozen anyhow.

    A Quick One/Happy Jack
    Disraeli Gears
    Buffalo Springfield Again
    Axis: Bold As Love
    Let It Bleed
    Black Sabbath
Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols
    Cheap Thrills
    Surrealistic Pillow
    Morrison Hotel
    Ramones
    The B-52s

it's actually one of my favorite albums i ever heard! i love every note of it, and so does everybody else.

you must understand, my job at TDPRI is "senior absurdist and %$&# stirrer".

i appointed myself to this position. it doesn't pay much.
