or, the least popular post on this thread:

Four Years Strong's Rise or Die Trying, if you take out the intro track.

Van Halen's debut. It's really 3 songs since Eruption and You Really Got Me kinda flow together. But I can't think of a debut 1-2 punch that changed the face of guitar playing more.

OK not the greatest but I was trying to think of non tired-classic-rock stuff.

Mike beat me to it, especially X. All wonderful.

Let me add Patti Smith & her first lp "Horses"

    1) Gloria (In Excelsis Deo/Gloria) & 2)Redondo Beach.

Hearing her sing "Jesus died for somebody's sins but not mine" for the first time was, truly, a revelation...

    Oh yeah, good call there...

Stone Roses, 'Wanna Be Adored' > 'She Bangs The Drums' is pretty cool, too.

Blitzkrieg Bop and Beat on the Brat from the Ramones first album. Maybe not "teh Bestest" but they sure set the tone.

Oh, forgot that one. What an awesome one-two from a band that arrived fully formed.
