Thanks! Absolutely - love Shiner. I just got their new album, but haven't spun it yet. Since Starless and The Egg are two all time favs, I am stoked!

The Darkness are one of the all-time best live shows I have ever seen.

I'm with you on that! Can't wait to hear it. Saw one of their reunion runs back in 2015 and it was maybe the best show I'd seen in a decade.

Ghost. Beneath all of the faux-Satanic theatricality is incredible songwriting and great musicianship. And they put on a hell of a live show (no pun intended).

I saw them on the tour for The Egg, and I truly think watching Gerkin play drums must be what it was like to see Bonham or Tony Williams play. So much power and emotion; he is just a monster. The first TLAT drummer was also a beast (Mike Meyers?), but I guess he didn't work out since they replaced him. Chris Metcalf is good and has gotten better over the years, but he's not in the same league as Gerkin and Meyers.

I was planning to see the reunion tour this summer, but COVID...

I agree re; Gerkin. He's a monster. Once stayed up into the wee hours talking about Swervedriver and Chavez with him. As with all monsters he's also a character:lol:

About as old school as you can get. The 20s? Pianists Meade Lux Lewis and Clarence "Pinetop" Smith cut a path to rock 'n' roll. Advent of radio. Big Bill Broonzy and Blind Lemon Jefferson couldn't lay their hands on a Tele, though.
