The Who?
Without Entwhistle and Moon, it's not the Who at all, any more than Page and Plant were not Led Zep.
No matter...enjoy them while we still have them with us (one never knows these days) and please report back as to how it went!
The Who?
Without Entwhistle and Moon, it's not the Who at all,
in 1979 Moon was not with them ! (kenny Jones was the drummer ) but they were still the Who ! I think Zeppelin were unique in that if you lose one you lose everything
lots of bands go through personel changes and keep their vibe So Yes but No Lol
I saw them on the penultimate show of the fall 2022 US tour. Great show. Yeah, it’s not “The Who” as you would have seen them prior to Moon’s death, or even in the 1979-1982 Kenney Jones period, but there are still plenty of magical moments, such as when they go off onto a totally ad-libbed tangent during 5:15. And if Townshend straps on his dual P90 Strat for WFGA, be prepared for a reincarnation of the classic Live at Leeds tone; great stuff!
Got tickets today for the July show at Edinburgh Castle, should be a great night and I've never seen them before so this was a bucket list deal. It is meant to be a greatest hits tour with a full orchestra, so yes, really looking forward to it. We're in the cheap seats, only £100 each, £256 if you want to be down the front but I imagine I'll hear them fine.
