Installed in a G&L Tribute ASAT Classic
Ordered:
BOURBON: Custom "Strat like" tone, #1 selling telecaster neck pickup. I got mine without a cover and it is stratty. Has plenty of treble and that strat bell tone. It's wound around 6.5K I think. Bobbin sits flush with pickguard using the old foam block. Alnico 5 I think. I just let Ken pick out the parts to make a strat-like neck pickup,
ALBA: Overwound, Overdrive, Some Twang, Classic Rock I don't think this was the right choice, it's a tad midrangy on the bottom strings. Still has the twangy top end though. Wound to 11.1 K on Alnico 3 magnets. Ken said the A3 would be a bit clearer than A5. I think something around 9K would have been just right. Still, this has a full fat bottom and nice clear twangy top end. It just doesn't have the snap on the bass strings.
Output wise, these are still less output than my G&L Fallout's neck P90 and bridge Dimarzio Bluesbucker. They do seem balanced with each other though and sound great combined.
