Picked up a used Mim Classic 50's Strat this weekend. So far I think its awesome, love the soft v neck. Will probably end up changing the pickups but fine for now. Mine is black and the previous owner changed the pickguard to black. Does anyone know what colour guard I will need to match the aged pickups covers and knobs? Aged white, parchment or cream? Does anyone know a online vendor to get a guard to match? Thanx lexx

I'd go with a parchment guard and pickup covers.

There is one at a music store near by, finally got to test it's famous v neck w/ 7.25 radius and vintage frets trio and indeed it is awesome.

The finest and fastest strat neck I'v played. And fretting was perfect too.

Think I finally found "my" strat...

Frank b, they are very nice guitars! My original question was the guitar comes with aged covers and knobs, does anyone know what colour would match the original knobs and covers best.Aged white, parchment or cream. I would have to order it online so going to a shop is out of the question in my area to match it up.

I believe those guitars come with the aged covers and a white pick guard. The contrast looks nice but the stark white of the pick guard is a bit much for my taste. IMO, a single ply parchment guard would look real nice with those covers without being so bright.

Fender calls the knobs & covers "aged white". And the original pg would have been white.

I've bought a couple of Stew-Mac's white single-ply guards, and found that over a relatively short period of time, they age naturally to a very nice parchment color - and you can accelerate it by leaving it in the sun for a while. The screw pattern is a perfect match for Fenders, and they're reasonably priced.

I don't know if the aging really shows in this photo, but here's one on my black partscaster:

I believe cream or parchment would work...

I just picked up one of these as well - just a few weeks ago - a '98. Also black. I absolutely love this strat! Wow, I never knew what I was missing with these Classic 50's strats... Love that soft V neck and the 7.25 radius... Fantastic feel and playability.

But to answer your question, mine came with the 1-ply white guard.

I've got a 2003 Classic 50s in Daphne Blue. Lovely guitar, although I'll be looking to replace that rather too-brilliant white pickguard with Callaham's parchment version very soon.
