2001 model. Picked this up a week or so ago. Natural relicing which I like. The bridge pickup is a Dimarzio made humbucker from an 80s Takamine and the neck pickup is a newer no-name which will be replaced.

Just a finish crack, no wood damage.

Cool. I think you should drop a TV Jones in the neck.

Nothing quite like a nice beater. Looks like fun!

I'm not quite sure what to put in the neck yet, have been thinking about a cream colored Dimarzio of some sort.

If you want to stick with the Gibson-style 3-way switch, for God's sake get a blank control plate from Guitar Fetish and fix that mess. Other than that, cool guitar. Some people don't think dual-humbuckers Teles are "real" Teles, but I like 'em.

That 3 way is already gone, I'm going to get one of those plates with the angled switch. If I'm going to replace it I may as well get a decent one. As for the natural relicing, I've never dropped a guitar in my life, until this one. Right after taking those pics I dropped it on the hardwood floor.:p Whatever.

Nice. I like a good beater Tele. Here's a pic of a Hiway 1 I had that I treated like crap--did not intentionally relic it, but you can see the results of regular gigging and not handling with care.

Man, I wish I'd never let this one go! Probably my favorite Tele ever.

I once had an MIM sunburst with big ole chips like yours in the finish.

In the darker edges of the burst the damage was actually divots. I took black nail polish and poured it into the divot and filled it.

It worked............. at least for a while. It was slightly darker than the dark area of the burst but it was very close.

However, after about a year or two the "patch" simply fell out of the divot, almost as one clean piece.

I saw a couple with wear like that at a Guitar Center today. They took a whole $50 off the price.

    So generous of them....

Same thing, they only took off $100 on a $1400 Tele, forget it!

    Nice find!

A regionally known player here, whom I’ve known since he was a kid, has an absolutely thrashed MIM. It looks better in this vid than it does up close. He told me he bought it from a pawn shop with 150 one-dollar bills from his tip jar.
