Darn it. This is the second time in a short while that I've missed out on I fuzz face I've been eyeing. Prices seemed a bit high both times, so I thought I'd wait a couple of days, and then make a low ball offer. And both times, they got sold before I made my move! Turns out there were other people that didn't find the price too much.

Feels like I'm losing my gear buying game :(

That’s what we concluded in the 100 other threads this year

Doh! I couldn’t keep the curmudgeon back!

    Two northerners at once!

When’s northern exposure coming to the party

It is obvious. The stuff I've sold this past year all moved with a minimum of haggling.

I am seeing market forcasters saying we will see a 70% increase in food costs and 50% increase in gasoline and other commodities over the next 6 months.

Basically the factories are dealing with fallout from CV by supply chains being screwed up, by their own cautious steps to keep employees healthy and happy and underestimating the consumer market behavior.

Not to mention the $4 Trillion in funny munny that was let into the economy.

I would expect the prices of living to increase fairly equally in all walks of life just as in the guitar market.

For some reason, alot of the stuff I've tried to move has been pretty hard to sell. Of course, I'm keeping the good stuff, so it's mostly been noname parts and accessories. Still, I expected that my Ibanez AD-80 and colorsound wah would sell like butter, but no action whatsoever, not even low offers.

My point isn't really to complain about prices. It's more that I used to understand the second hand gear market so well. Always knew what to sell, when to sell it, what was a good deal and what wasn't. And now suddenly, I feel like the rules were re-written over night, and no one told me.

I tell everybody I know, you can judge inflation by guitar prices. Yeah, those trillions printed can only mean one thing, inflation to some degree. Please don't let it go hyper...

Wait, you were going to put a low ball offer in, and then expect to have it accepted? These are very different times right now.

It's a good time to try all the inexpensive alternatives. I pretty much refuse to pay the premium on this stuff.

Also, really investigate your potential purchase. There's a particular Analogman pedal I was looking into, it popped up used on GC's used site for $250. On Reverb, they are all listed for $300+, some $500+. You can order one straight from Analogman new for $255.

So am I understanding that it's a game you want, not actually a fuzz?

Must be a typo and he meant he was going to offer 20% above the asking price.

Which version of the AD-80 and what asking price?
Those are hard to nail down values and the really good 18v versions are less popular than they should be. Better to buy an AD-900 up in that price range IMO.

    I have two of each!
Paid around $150 each except the less awesome RI AD-80 was maybe $75.
