Well it's based on the life of real life gangster Henry Hill . I love it personally ! Really wild stuff in it and most of it is true.

Jimmy goes, in a blink of an eye, from chatting with Billy Batts to backing Tommy.

The whole Italo/Crimey/Grimy/NYC/DeNiro genre is so hackneyed. Is that the only stupid pet trick Scorcese knows? ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

If you've lived in NYC and environs, you know there is nothing interesting, funny, admirable, or redeeming about these moronic psychopaths.

It's all a throwback to depression/prohibition eras, and the public kinda sorta looking up to mobsters. Supposebly

I do like how in, what was it, Donnie Brasco? the tough guys were reduced to knocking over parking meters

I used to love these movies and Sopranos. Then at some point during Sopranos I realized all these guys are just bully’s using physical violence to take things. I stopped being enamored with the romanticism.
