Today a convoy of about 50 trucks arrived in Armidale, NSW.
Irish contractors (don't yet know the details wrt them) have transported water here for the farmers suffering through this drought. This is a personal undertaking, not government sponsored AFAIK.
The truckies will be staying at one of the Uni' colleges. They declined free accommodation, and will be paying for their boarding.

We've been on Level 5 water restrictions for a few months now. Tough times.
(Level 5 is the highest level of restriction)

Bravo! There are still good people doing good things in this world. And it was a private undertaking. That brought a smile to my face

Yes ... makes me think better of the human race.
One person doing is more useful than 1,000 people talking.

We also have convoys of fire fighting trucks on the move through Armidale again.
These firefighters have been fighting bushfires now for over 2 months - all volunteers.
    The stat's are mind-boggling:
In NSW alone, over 600 homes lost, 1.7M hectares (6,500 Sq Miles) burnt out (that's over 2% of the state).
    Won't stop 'til it rains.

    Very nice and best wishes.

It was an opposite problem where I live - flooding - but heartwarming when people and businesses stepped up in similar ways. Also heartwarming because most people were community oriented when daily life seems so polarized.

    Again, best wishes!
