Good Bias Tool

    This unit does not measure plate voltage. Do you take a separate plate voltage reading in order to figure the plate dissipation?

    Yes,it's not hard to measure plate voltage. Taking the chassis out and doing measurements is part of the fun of replacing the tubes. But truth is my only Octal power tube amp (EL34s) I have any more is cathode biased (although adjustable) Blackstar HT20.. I don't really even use the Bias Probe any more. I measure across a resistor. Set for 11.5 volts DC.
    The Eurotubes Bias Probe has worked flawlessly for years now.
