On my build, I'm going to use a modern IEC power jack, and thought a modern AC outlet would be a nice addition. I can only find ones that clip into a panel, and was hoping to find something that looks a little sturdier. The IEC jacks are readily available with screw tabs. Anyone know where I can find an AC outlet with screws, besides the vintage-style one?

Here's the sad looking one that I can find.

Yeah, those things are terrible.Actually I hate IEC type anyway so I'm no help really. Just another thing to keep track of, that IEC cord you may leave at home.

A simple Google search turned up a dozen from $1.60 on up........ Is your Google broke?

schmee, I think you misunderstood. The IEC jacks are easy to find. It's a sturdy AC outlet that I'm looking for.

Maybe just one of these, available at any hardware store.

The original Fender style are available, but I like to use the grounded version.

Oh yeah, sorry. You have the rectangular hole already in the chassis? If not, do you really want an outlet back there? I used to use the stock one on my Fenders, it can be handy, but I just stopped using them.

These look pretty sturdy but are still just plastic:

The outdoor ones are nice but expensive and too big.

    These are 2" x 2" overall:

A GFCI might provide better protection against beer spills.

Maybe I'm overthinking it. The clip in panel mount ones are used by the billions in offices and other applications.

Just be mindful that it is a good fit in the chassis. I bought a Weber DR project that had a hole in the chassis that was too large. I worried about it until I built a plate to go behind the chassis and hold it more securely.
    (sorry I don't have a better picture!)
