Praying for you here, as well. Lots has already been said, but even in the face of a possible difficult diagnosis, stay strong and determine to do what it take for the best possible outcome. A positive attitude, regardless of what’s staring you in the face, will steer you to a more positive result. Peace, brother.

Praying you'll get through this OK.....and once you do, try to look at your lifestyle through different eyes.
Don't look at changes ( smoking, eating poorly, no exercise, etc) as "depriving" yourself......look at them as things that will improve your health and reap benefits you'll cherish. My personal habits leave a lot of room for improvement, but one of the BEST things I ever did was to quit smoking. I can't BEGIN to describe the many ways doing that improved my life.
    Good luck. ;)

Perhaps this is small comfort, but assuming that what you're scared of is what they might tell you, whatever that is is going on right now whether you know it or not. What you're doing tomorrow is taking the first step to doing something about it.

Wear your mask, pay attention, ask questions and take action.

I agree with the others, it sound like you know what to do.

Hopefully, this is just a scare and one you can use to your advantage.

If not, I hope all goes well!

My thoughts are with you and I wish you the best. Do make sure you pickup some nicotine gum. Seriously, when I am hospitalized that is what I want. It makes life so much easier. And do use it to quit. It took me getting diagnosed with cancer to finally quit smoking cigarettes, and there are much healthier alternatives. Like nicotine gum, or vaping.

Some folks never cop to the decisions that get them in poor health. Good on you for doing that. Now fix that sh*t! Plenty of guitar playing left to do!

    You can change your intake.

I exercise, do yoga, don’t eat much meat, don’t smoke and don’t drink much, and I am having hand problems also.

I’m having a checkup next week and hope to get some answers soon.

Hope to shake your hand some day and to be able to squeeze.

I'm almost 61 and every thing that happens I freak out and call the doc. I spent a day smashing up a sofa and taking it to the dump and the next day was having chest pains so after a call to the advice line went to the ER. I think it was just some muscle strain in my chest - they ruled out a heart attack. Some weird growth in my throat, had it cut out, it was a benign papilloma. Feeling dizzy, got a blood test, unexplained blood clot found in my lung, now I'm on blood thinners. The feeling of not knowing what is wrong is pretty bad. I'm losing weight after many years of not doing so. I've hardly been a saint in my life but I have given up some long standing vices and started exercising more.

I hope you can get some help and bring things around.

I know how you feel Rodeo Tex. when I turned 60 I went to the doctor about my poor health and had the uneasy feeling about what they where going to tell me. I lived the life of a Rock and Roller for more than 35 years. I still smoke and drink and party several times a week. I am now 67 and I have not changed my ways much.

.Fluid retention and short breath like that ofen equates to congestive heart failure which is just a fancy way of saying a chamber isn't functioning correctly. If you have a cough as well, that would confirm that diagnosis.

Sounds scary, but really isn't. Medication and sometimes a minor shock treatment to the chamber of the heart often resolves the issue. I have a letter carrier in my office that just went through that very thing and he is back to walking his 9 mile route every day after about a month break.

Don't fear it, no reason to, it is just part of the process to getting better. Hang in there and ride it out, we all get stubborn with our health but we learn to do better. You should be feeling good in a couple of days time....you got this.

Tell the medical folks the truth about everything, will make it easier to figure out what’s going on... don’t refuse bloodwork, treatments, etc.... believe me, they’re not having any more fun than you, they want to get you well.... yeah, it’s scary, but you took the important first step. Good vibes to young

Git to it. You have, starting right now, for the rest of your Life, to make as much good as you can from this.

Be honest with yourself and be honest with the caregivers. No one is going to judge you, they will do their best to get you feeling better. That’s what we do.
