Just got a call from a friend. He's got a package bought and paid for, and his wife can't get out of work commitments, so he asked if I'd be free to join him.

Airfare, luggage, hotel shuttle, hotel, all covered for four days and nights. Just need food and party money. I foresee a couple items hitting CL soon...

    Can't wait to get warm!

He just sent me a pic of the hotel. Man, I needed this!

Check out the entertainment available at all the nearby casinos. I saw Brian Setzer at the Beau back in December.

Man! I'd love to feel some salt water about now.

I was in Biloxi back in the eighties. I went to the Harley blow out in Gulfport and the first wife and I visited Biloxi beach for a few hours.

He's a really great friend. Started out as a fan, coming to shows and buying my music, then hired me to play a party at his house. It was all over after that. We sat up until about 4am that night talking about music, and the son he'd recently lost. Now we hang out a lot.

He's gotta be 25 years older than I am, but we have a blast together. Should be a fun trip.

I think you should have the brain trust here at TDPRI help you plan your budget. Even though I only have half a brain, I’ll start:

Let’s say you raise $500 for food and party money (or $200,whatever...)

Go to the grocery store and get two large jars of peanut butter. Now you have the food covered and you have $490 for partying.

Our standard operating procedure when going to Maui is to go to a mart (K, Wall or Quickie) buy a $2 styrofoam cooler and fill it with sandwich materials, snacks and sodas and beer. Other than a couple of highfalutin, dress up dinners we eat out of that cooler while tooling around in a pretty cheap rent-a-car.

Have a great time Jakedog! Sounds like a great way to recharge...or drain your batteries!

I was in Biloxi in the late 80s. And I think I went back in the 90s, but don't remember much about the trip, other than its an awesome beach town. You gotta eat the local seafood. I remember going to an oyster bar and just pigging out all afternoon on fresh oysters and iced buckets of beer.
