I have stated earlier that I have been "gassin" for a Hiwatt Head. I have been looking for a number of weeks, and this is the first 400 I have come across. No I haven't the means to buy, OR the venue to hear it sing!

Hey. Thanks for responding. Hehe. I get excited. I'm new to guitar and like a child in the candy store seeing and learning all this new environment. What I have read about Hiwatt Amps is pretty awesome, reguardless of who has played through em. Built dang near bullet-proof. I read 1 post about someone buying from Europe. Said he nearly had a heart attack when he found the package on his doorstep. It was double-wrapped with bubble wrap, No box! that's all. He opened his treasure with the skill of a surgeon, being ever careful. Plugged it in and it was everything he dreamed about and more! And no visable damage was found from transit.heh. I felt it was pretty awesome seeing 1 listed for sale haviing not seen 1 up to this time. Tho! Not a vintage unit.

Serviced a vintage one last year. Was massive. Just the head unit was 90+ pounds. Transformers bent the chassis a bit over the years due to the weight. Killer build, sounded great, of course. Not sure I'd ever want one, but the 50W or 100W are more than enough for most mortals.

This Amp.... a good 6G15 , an old MXR Distortion +, 100 foot cable, and about 9 square miles of open ground....that's all I need.

I owned the 200 watt head. I used it once as a PA monitor amp. To this day, that was the best monitor sound I ever experienced. Sold it at the Ohio Guitar Show to a collector named Townsend

I saw a Townshend Hiwatt on reverb

Apparently it was one of four made for him

I can’t remember how much they wanted

    That’s the one to get

I posted this after finding it 9:49 last night. I look 2-3x a day. 15 hrs late the post was gone. I found it on a European site listing post was gone. Ever wish you had something that sold so fast? I would love a DR 201, but the DR 103 would be more than I need. I have synth and keyboard to use with it. And yes! Guitars too!
