I recently picked up a used 'Godin Special'. I've never heard of this model. I can't find it online anyplace. Does anyone have information on it? I've attached a pic.

    Any info is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Big Godin fan here, but never seen that one before...
You can date Godins by s/n (although an unconventional system); that may help. Also, Michel at Godin Customer Support may be able to provide details.
Let us know what you find out!

I don't recognize the guitar, sure looks nice! — but I emailed Godin CS a pic of my LG, and a nice fellow wrote back with all the details. Give it a shot!

    Godins are first rate.

Godin uses some very nice woods in their guitars. You'll have to play it and "find it's voice" in relation to your playing style. They are very nice instruments and we'll made. Check out their website.

Yes, their construction uses firebricks for a better sound ... :D

Well, I contacted Godin. Michel Bélanger at customer service seems to think it looks like a copy. He didnt say anything about the model. Whether it was an actual thing or not. It definitely has differences from a typical Godin headstock. I am waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Then I will see what I've got. It is a little disappointing. Hopefully it is a nice playing and sounding guitar.

LOL. Chodin. I cant believe someone would counterfeit a Godin guitar. They are relatively under the radar.

whats really funny if it is a copy ,And you will be able tell immediately when you look at it, is that a lot of guitars made by other manufacturers are in fact godins , kind of like the old Tiescos , sold as Kawaii, Beltone, and carvin all were the same model of Tiesco, LOL , godin autographs his guitars, and on the back of the headstockit will say made in canada or usa and the serial number will be punched into the wood on the back of the headstock

Yeah. Everything seems to indicate this is a fake. I have not gotten it yet. (tomorrow) There is no serial number on the back of the headstock. The P-90s are Wilkensons. which aren't necessarily bad but are not the quality and brand used by Godin. The headstock is shaped differently. The bridge looks generic. Im afraid I let me excitement at a possibly rare Godin cloud my judgement with this purchase. Now I am just hoping it plays and sounds so good that I dont want to return it.
