Had I not converted my Am Se earlier to a vintage specs 'ashtray' plate (with 6 extra holes), I'd have bought that close out plate.
Dale's got this new thin titanium plate, sounds worth investigating. My impression is he does not think the thickness of the stock Fender vintage plate was the problem, rather the material and the quality of manufacture. Bill Callaham's plates are heavier, of course the sound is different, and I think it is excellent. Highly recommended.
If you have limited funds, buy the Stewart MacDonald #0099 bridge plate assembly with the threaded saddles, but buy the 3 brass compensated saddles as well, and put those threaded ones aside, put the brass on instead.
Is it better than the Glendale or Callaham? I don't think so, but it is better than most plates and saddles on MIM Telecasters and even Hwy One, I submit.
