Thinking has never served me well.
I think I have thought enough.
What do you think?
Just an old saying I heard somewhere.
Actually my wife says I think too much,
probably because I open my mouth
with all those wondrous ideas and thoughts..lol
On the whole I do too much of it and ineffectively at that.
You're overthinking this.
Me either, Bill. With 72 coming up, too much time on my hands and lots of reflection going on, I've concluded that some of the problems in my life happened because I didn't fully think things through. Lol.
I’m reminded of the old man who visited the Urologist.
“Doctor…I’m having a hard time peeing.”
“So how old are you?”
“I’m eighty years old.”
“Don’t you think you have peed enough?”
Guess what I’m trying to say Bill is that I think that we’re not done thinking until we’re done.
I came to that conclusion on my second day of kindergarten. I knew I was in for a rough 60 years, but that day finally came when I retired and now I no longer have to think.
Why didn’t I think of that?
I’ve heard a psychologist use the term “stinkin’ thinking.”
They were referring to a person making derogatory comments about themselves.
Hmmm.... I think I'm gonna have to think on that a bit

Been thinking what to write here in this thread... I really have something important to say but I am not sure what you will think about my thoughts on this subject... so yeah...
I gave up thinking for a living when I retired. I actually miss the intellectual stimulation. I don’t miss working but I maintain my journal and newsletter subscriptions. I also stay in touch with former colleagues. It’s not that there’s no intellectual stimulation here, there is. But I miss the handful of people who actually knew what I was talking about.
So, just where do you think that will get you?
IF you are half as smart as you think you are ,you would not be where you are today!
Do I think I should give up thinking? Let me think about that. GAAAA! Caught in a recursive loop! Black hole! Darkness! I don't think I can get out! AAAH! There I go again! ...
My thoughts exactly.
I spend too much time thinking and not enough time doing.
At 45 the time to "do" is getting less infinite.
All the time I've spent thinking and planning in the past has shown little actual progress as my plans always forget to take into account that no one else gives a damn about my thoughts/plans and things rarely play out like I thought they would.
Personally I like to think, I like to reason, imagine and resolve. Not to mention, wonder and fantasy. After all is that not creativity? Now worry on the other hand, I don't do that because of this,
34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, fortomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enoughtrouble of its own.
