This one was apparently popular for a minute, and sorta suggests the other side of '50s hot rod culture though I doubt the original artists were thinking of putting a big motor in a little car to win races with a "sleeper".

    Great one.
In the early 70s I used to wait up late listening to Alison Steele, “the night bird” to play this one on the radio.
I liked Tom Waits ever since.

My aunt gave me copies of Waits' Small Change and Morphine's Good back in 1993. Really opened my mind.

This is Cracker's cover of someone else. "The smoke could be seen for miles around, but nobody knows what it means." Ha, still funny.

Then of course, they did this one:
(And they are right, the world does not need another folk singer)

While we're on this theme, Camper Van Beethoven had quite a few funny songs. My favorite was this one:

And now for something completely different. Not sure if this was written by Dylan, the Band, or a traditional, but its a humorous song (thought I don't think the chicken appreciates the humor)

I guess if you are English, this counts as funny. (Mean Mr. Mustard too. "Always shouts out something obscene.")

Beautiful. Hugh Laurie may be the only person in the world who truly understands what Bob Dylan was always singing about.

These guys are hilarious. Unless you were in a hair band in the 80s. Then, sorry.

This was a Jesse Fuller song that The Dead used to do all the time. I like Rawling's version best.
