I know what you are saying - but I think you are missing your target with Lady G. She is a great songwriter, her production - which she has an input on - is groundbreaking, and she plays an audience better than anyone since, well, Mick Jagger. She seems to have become some sort of cypher for shallow pop - which is hugely ironic as she is one of the very few original voices in pop right now. Personally, I think she is the most interesting pop princess since Debbie Harry - she has 10 times the chops of Madonna for instance.

I thought the Stones AND Lady Gaga brought it! Seriously.

    +1.

You're preachin' to the choir bud! I'm very appreciative of her talent and the hard work she puts into her appearances. I'm not a huge fan of hers just because that whole thing isn't my deal...but certainly give her credit for having a set of pipes and pulling it off the way she does...(especially in light of the fact that she freely admits to burning a fattie on occasion...many occasions)...

No, the hate stuff I'm talkin' are the ones you hear on award shows where half the lyrics are beeps...that's the stuff our kid's are getting molded by.

I'm not sure what the hub bub is all about. I think her performance is right in line with the spectacle she's a part of. I think her singing is good and the dancing is no more or less goofier than anything Mick is capable of doing. I fail to see the problem. Good performance I'd say.

I think she writes some good material and has a good voice.

    Well, that's an intolerant statement!

As for Gimme Shelter, Lady Gaga is no match for Lisa Fischer:

    Or Mary J. Blige

    or Florence Welch

This crap performance very quickly puts the GaGA performance into perspective. Elevator music Stones or Rock'n'F'n'Roll Stones. Take your pick.

    I say GO GAGA!

You have to look hard to find them but, there are some great interviews with her.
The reason she has that name is because she is a HUGE fan of Queen.
She did a Google search for "Radio Gaga". There was a message that said "Did you mean LADY GAGA instead?" She clicked on it and there was no LADY GAGA.
At that moment she knew what her new stage name would be.
She Loves being able to go onstage as 'Lady Gaga', then come off stage and be herself.

People want to be entertained, she does just that. Even if it does seem a bit weird to us 'normal' people.

No, I don't like all of her music.
But I like the way she does Business.

Ridiculous hair, outfit, shoes. All grossly unflattering to the young woman. I give kudos to Charlie for not missing a beat when she was idiotically prancing in front of him...I would have. I'll bet the Stones were ultimately embarrassed by it all.

Thanks jwsamuel for posting the clip with Lisa Fisher - she's exactly what I was thinking...

Gaga, whatever - not really worth the time to talk about - her voice was better than I expected, but she jumps around like a goofy kid.

Lisa has a killer voice - better than any of the other performances posted here - and she knows how to bring the hottness.

I'm still not convinced she's not a drag act.

I was thinking the same thing about Jagger.

She looks like a bizarre marionette being manipulated by someone having a grand mal seizure.

    Give me Lisa any day......please!

That's my opinion and I'm stickin' to it.

I think it looked more off cause the sound was not tracked in time with the video. I think Lady GaGa is bangin'. I like freaky women.

I don't get them constantly having guest sing this when they have Lisa Fischer. She owns it.

As for Gaga I'll pass. I would much rather hear Lisa Fischer...

or Sara Dash and Babi Floyd for that matter....
