I just saw the clip of Gimme Shelter from the Stones' pay-per-view concert.
Is Lady Gaga a joke?
She looks distractingly ridiculous.
And she is such a graceful dancer too!
(I generally don't make comments like this about any musical performers... but I'll make an exception in this case.)
If the question is "Is this a joke?", and the subject matter is Lady Gaga... then the answer is always, yes... indeed it is a joke.
I'm still not convinced she's not a drag act.
She has a voice but in that video IMHO she looks and acts so stupidly outlandish as to undermine what might be a good performance - but she certainly got all eyes on her.
That's not a joke!
it was a serious attempt to dance and express the feelings of a wounded, hobbling zebra that got attacked by a lion.
I could actually see it and I think Lady Gaga really nailed it there.
Yeah but don't you just love that Jr. Keith is playing??
there is nothing even remotely attractive about her.
Though...the Stones sound 'effing great.
What's next? A piano player dressed as Donald Duck?
look at the stones history...they got on every fad in music up to the 80s...maybe they are getting back to it
Don't give them any ideas! After that performance I wouldn't put it past thrm
didnt elton john do that in the 70s?
i thought i remember him doing that
Well...say what you want, they're (she's) on stage in front of thousands and we're at our computers watching.
The part I found most annoying was the stretching the song into 7 1/2 minutes for her and Mick to show off their vocal chops on the same two lines over and over. Lord knows the front person doesn't get enough of the spotlight, so let's give both of them solos. I did think that they sounded great. In the realm of pop stardom, musicianship takes a back seat to looks, which takes a back seat to ability to get someone's attention, and Lady Gaga will not go unnoticed. I doubt if she has many fans on the tele forum, but we almost all know who she is. Hopefully, she created some Stones fans who wouldn't have heard the band otherwise.
I don't see a problem with it. I'm an old fart, and I think the GaGa brings it.
Hell, I can't even remember the last time the Stones asked me to jam with them in their garage much less play on stage with them.
Jagger and Gaga both built careers around being obnoxious, overtly sexual, and in-your-face. All I see here are a bunch of intolerant old guys ragging on a musician they don't like. Keep it to yourselves next time.
You got to give her credit for being able to dance in those porn-star shoes.
And it was good to see this outfit back again.
The lady backing singer with the afro is much cuter though.
