Went to see these guys gigging as The Tough Cookies last night on the final date of their tour (I think). My singer, John, knows their drummer, Chris Musto, so we were in on the list and got to chat at the end of the show. Cool line up, for me at least:

    Glen Matlock, ex-Sex Pistols
Earl Slick, Guitar, David Bowie since about '74
Jim Lowe, Bass, Grammy winner Nick Cave, The Charlatans, Foo Fighters Taylor Swift, Beyoncé ,
Chris Musto, Drums, Joe Strummer, Nico, Johnny Thunders

Stripped down rock n roll old school. Loose feel but tight. This is the way I like rock music best very small club, very loud, visceral db pressure. GREAT!

Fun to be just right in front of Earl Slick about 4 feet away, just watching a rock n roll god like a personal gig. I had to move back to take these pics! Perfect mix for me Guitar Bass and Drums totally in my face. Earl's rig was a Firebird type build with P90s, Supro with ext speaker, A Supro Delay, OCD and a Full Drive. Simple hard hitting stuff. It was fab to right in front of his cranked rig. Pure rock n roll tone and playing. Old school kit all round. Beautiful vintage Slingerland kit Fender silverface bass rig and Precision.

Little clip from the night, a cover of Richard Hell’s Blank Generation
