Something tells me that Monroe Capital expects a certain look.

Yep. Different job, different uniform. My avatar is me in my 1851 fur trade work clothes--I don't dress like that now. Sadly.

Under that suit was a hipster in hiding

    Which is authentic though?

Especially if you're some executive. God willing we all find a job where we can wear whatever the hell we're most comfortable in.

Henry went through VPs like toilet paper back then.
I wouldn't worry about it much.
I wouldn't invest with him, but I wouldn't worry about it.

That's the ugliest leather jacket I've ever seen.

When you have never worn a leather jacket in your life and finally get a job that requires one, you run straight to Nieman Marcus and grab the coolest(most expensive) one they

Say what you want about the jacket or hat, but this is a much better look for him. As a developer, I've hated jobs that make me wear suits. I'm pretty sure he was wearing what he was required to wear for the job at Monroe.

Looks like the financial company has a different dress code; at Gibson he seems more relaxed and natural.

"Is it authentic?" You mean the beard? Looks real to me. I wouldn't have grown one at a certain job I had, but right now I grow one whenever I want.

I just think it's a funny and stark example of how there's a uniform for every job and somehow that uniform makes you "credible" looking in that particular job.

If the uniforms were reversed, is anyone going to want to invest with the guy in the brim or is anyone going t think the guy in suit and clean shave is a guy with a cool job at a legendary guitar company? Sure, an open minded dude like yourself is going to say "i don't judge people on their sartorial choices", but in reality, if clothing didn't matter, we would all be wearing the same uniform(footy pajamas and a lumberjack hat).

He looks no more unnatural in that leather than Agnesi does in his.

Inconvenient truth : each of the half dozen 2019 Gibson’s I’ve tried has been good. The LP Special I played at Motor City was downright spectacular.

    Pleather.

I wish. Well, no, but I wish I had replaced my salary with his.

Seriously, though, I work in retail. We have company shirts, and a dress code of sorts. I enforce it in my department. People should be allowed to wear anything they want on their own time, but if a company wants to project an image, well that comes with the paycheque. Maybe it’s because of working as an Historic Interpreter, or in theatre, but to me, looking the part matters.

Also, at 6’5”, there are no footie pajamas to fit me.

The stitching on the sleeves reminds me of the string webs you see wrapped around a rolled beef roast, at a butcher shop:rolleyes:

...And that cat can wear anything he pleases, and be 110% authentic!
