Granadillo is similar to rosewood but it's generally more expensive. I have a Moderne with Granadillo and it's an absolutely gorgeous wood that feels and sounds like rosewood. The grain is a little tighter and it's slightly lighter.

Here are two recent Gibson guitars (neither had a flaw from the factory so I kind of feel cheated). The Moderne is granadillo, the FB is rosewood.

I just got an Epiphone with this...
Not sure what it is...some say "blackwood."
Crazy hard, very black and slick.
    Super tight grain.
When I tried to roll the fretboard edges with a hardened steel rod, it didn't BUDGE.
    IMO, totally equivalent to ebony.
    I don't believe it's dyed.
I'm surprised Gibson isn't using it.
The big picture reflects a lot of light, so the color isn't well represented...the bit by the pickup route in the other pic looks more like it.
    Really amazing board.
Cool guitars, BTW...I thought I was the only one who likes the Moderne.

Are they using "Blackwood Tek"? Reverend is using that in place of rosewood now. Per their link it's Australian/New Zealand blackwood that is treated with a polymer to make it sturdier/slicker. I haven't gotten to play a Reverend with that material as of yet - the most recent Reverends I tried out were all maple fingerboards; I haven't played a rosewood board Reverend since say March of last year when they were still using rosewood.

My office is right in Fell's Point. If you know where Soundgarden is I'm almost directly behind it on South Bond.

I know what you're thinkin' with this pic, "boy this Epiphone is a long tenon."

Yeah, well, if it were a mere Les Paul, sure, but not on a V.

The only reason I know this is I took the 'guard off of some luthier built (Ken Meyer) V I have and saw a similar heel extension, then I just had to research it.

    WOAH, NELLY!
And...yeah...I had the pickup out to melt some wax out, but I was definitely checking the tenon.
I bet those pickups would sound good in my Epiphone :p

Nothing all that exciting. I do like a good p90 gold top, so I was glad to see that, but $2k is a wasteland price for me. I feel like I could get plenty enough guitar for less, or if I had to have a +$2k guitar, I'd be inclined to step up to a custom shop and track down an R4 or R6 new or used.

I don't see any reason why that guitar should cost more than $1500.00

They do have some nice models at the moment. I have decided I'll finally get a Cherry Red 335 with the block inlays when I hit forty. I'm really pleased to see those in their current catalogue.

Then I sudden realised, Gibson being Gibson, they might not sell them in the classic config like that in a few (less than I'd admit ;) ) short years :/

Today, I've ordered Firebird Studio with P90. I've tried it few days ago and it's incredible! I got it for 999€, hard case shell included. Can't wait to get my first Gibson and my first P90 guitar!
But nothing can replace my Tele
